Installing Revit

Autodesk offers free access to their software to anyone with a .k12 or .edu email address. For more information on their educational licenses, visit their page on the subject

Installation of Revit is a data-heavy process, even compared to other architectural software. Make sure you’re on a good Wi-Fi network before you begin installation.

Revit does not have a Mac version. If you use a Mac for architectural drawing, you have a few options. One is to use remote desktop to access a Stuckeman School computer (which all have Revit installed) through your personal computer. For instructions on that process, see this AAIT guide (this guide is for ArcGIS, but everything other than the software itself should be the same).

A more permanent option for the computer-savvy is to dual-boot Windows and Mac operating systems on your Mac. This will allow your Mac to act like any other computer running Windows when desired. For more information, visit the Apple page on the subject
